When you think of Chicago 2016, you think of senseless killings and drill. That’s not so when it comes to Y.A.K. (You Already Know/Youth and Knowledge) Born and raised on the South Side – Roseland – Wild Wild Hunnids to be exact, YAK always found music from birth is what he has been into. He even says Luther Vandros is who “inspired” his parents to create him… Music is his addiction.

Writing and Rhyming started back his freshman year of high school. Every morning before class a cypher would kick off. Y.A.K. was always right in there with them. He sees himself as an excellent writer and an infinite amount of ideas. “Making good music isn’t hard, making great music is…” Consistency and constantly going in on everything he touches is what drives his passion for greatness.

In November of 2015 Y.A.K. dropped his mixtape “Bands Up” – DatPiff Link with production from his main man Skanlus. He also brought in a few of Chicago’s other producers making some noise, Band Camp, Paris Bueller, Savo and Dawreck. It was a track that Skanlus brought to him that got things flowing with Money Makin Foolay. “Rite Now” had that Drill sound that Chicago is known for and there was only one person who could make this record do what I needed to do. King Louie. It was right up his alley. World Star Hip Hop
->2016 – New music and an album to be released. Catch Em in Traffic dropping February on Green Cheese Entertainment. Of course the single is still “Rite Now” Money Makin Foolay and King Louie. Radio in Chicago is already on the record. <
->At the end of all of it though, Y.A.K. looks just to make his music and make it make people happy. On stage he gives his all. When looking at the front row and they are cheering and wanting to shake his hand, no matter the city that makes it worth it. In fact it makes it priceless. He respects every individual and gives each his own respect, just don’t forget, He from them Wild Wilds … Respect the Man!
