Yung Legend’s passion for music began at the early age of ten. He was a member of P.L.U.T.O. (Playas like Us Takin’ Ova) performing throughout Chicago playing at middle schools, talent shows and local neighborhood block parties. Yung Legend signed with T.I.C.S. (True Insane Control Societies) while still focusing on school.
Deon’ta Johnson was born on May 3, 1988, in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 2002. Johnson was rediscovered by a local artist named “Big Nasty” and signed to Legend Entertainment which granted him the chance to share his writing abilities. Under Legend Entertainment he had the privilege of meeting national recording artists such as Twista, R. Kelly, and Kanye West.
In 2005, Johnson released his first solo mixtape under Rebel Life Entertainment. He had the privilege of performing in various venues such as The Rave, The B.E.T. College Tour, etc. And working with national recording artists like Rico Love, Jacob Latimore and Ice Mone.
Yung Legend has resurfaced in 2022 after taking a hiatus and signing with J-Kwon’s label HHM (Hood Hop Music Group) with the release of his new single “Go Stupid” produced by breakout Los Angeles-based producer “Derelle Rideout” who produced for industry artists such as “Gucci Mane” “Kevin Gates”, “Lil Uzi Vert”, “Saweetie”, “Flo Milli”, “Baby Tate”, “Peewee Long” and “Migos”.
