Chicago’s own, Lon DON, has proved time and time again that faith and determination out
weighs any adversity. Through his music he shows transparency through his lyrics as fans
relate to many of his hardships and find motivation in his drive to keep pushing through.
Born as, Carl Mack, on Chicago’s Southside, DON started to sell drugs at 18 to support his
first son. He later escaped a near death experience after a tragic car accident, and
unfortunately experienced the passing of his first wife.
Being inspired to write music since the early age of 9, DON soon found music as a release and
a way to cope throughout not only his hardships, but his triumphs. After releasing his first
mixtape, Hot Wit It, Lon DON hasn’t stopped making music since.
Throughout his career, DON, has worked with multi-platinum producers such as, Kanye West
and The Legendary Traxster, and has also been behind the scenes doing such work as writing
for other artists.
Along with being a talented artist himself, DON owns his own company, CLR, named after his
three sons, which is geared to helping rising artists feel comfortable being themselves, and
making the best of what’s in front of them.
With lots of praying and work of course, DON continues to find peace within himself and his
fans continue to support him throughout his journey.
