James “Dj Preach” Clark got stated in his music career at the early age of 8. His first taste of the Technics 1200 was when his father left him in charge at friend wedding while he used the bathroom. From there his love for music was born. Being raised on every side of Chicago and also living in Oakland CA his musical influence came in many different forms. As he got older his passion for music got deeper when he started playing the piano & drums for his church at the age of 10. With very little money he used to get his music by recording songs from the radio and putting them on old tapes from which he got free from his father’s friends. Beating matching was always a strong suit when u started mixing with tapes and then graduating to using cd too one party even mixing used two laptops and windows media player. By the time he turned 21 he had already hosted and djed multiple college events and also had a recurring guest host spot on DePaul University radio show. Now at 27 he has his eyes set on becoming one of the top dj’s in the Midwest and having a spot on main stream radio stations.
Venues he has djed at. All the hottest club in Chicago from big to small: Excalibur, Zentra, Victor Hotel, K’OS, Dragonfly, Sangria, Ibar, Café Lura, Ibar.
His musical influences include his father who is was also a dj; Jazzy Jeff, AM, Sean Mac, Deeon, Wax Master, Timbuk 2, 33 1/3, VDub, Shawn T and many more
