Marcus Jackson, now known as Butta Da Great was born and raised in the Englewood Area of Chicago, Illinois. He graduated high school and then pursued finding ways to make money. He was a young entrepreneur, raised by a single parent, and taught to take care of himself and find his own way.
His influence in the rap game came from his love for music. It was his sole inspiration. Listening to the likes of Tupac, Biggie Smalls, and Jay Z prompted him to pursue his own career in the music industry.
Since then, Butta Da Great has made a major impact on hip-hop in his city. He hosts a rap countdown weekly on Clear Channel 26 out of Chicago, IL and performs at many live shows. He is currently ranked #2 on the Reverbnation Charts for Chicago and his social media numbers have sky rocketed this year gaining thousands of new fans and followers.
