Coming from the city of Rockford, Ill, DJ Neal Howard has always been involved in music for most of his life. Growing up to the sounds of early hip-hop & r&B sowed the seeds for his love of music. Influenced by a wide variety of djs, such as Ron Hardy, Lil’ Louis, Mike “Hitman” Wilson, Herb Kent, Jazzy Jeff & Kid Capri to as well as a lot of younger newer djs, DJ Neal has always kept his ears open. Maintaining a deep reverence for older music, but always respecting new music has always kept him in demand from both young & older crowds in his hometown.
Living in the Chicago area during the late 80’s – early 90’s has proven to be a life-long influence, as he was soaking up the sounds of Hip-Hop, House, Stepping & Old School R&B djs while himself learning how to mix. Also, at this time, is when Neal caught the djing & studio bug, working with various notable djs on different releases.
Since coming back to his hometown of Rockford, Ill, Neal has since become one of the top DJs there, having played mostly everywhere there is to play. He has also opened up his own studio & has for years been deeply involved in the local music scene as a recording/mixing engineer. This side of the business has led him to travel, working with artists & producers in areas such as Los Angeles, Las Vegas & even South Korea.
